How to choose the perfect coffee mug
People drink more coffee daily than any other drink, apart from water. That's a lot of coffee. It's estimated that 60 per cent of the world's population drink at least one coffee a day. That means lots of coffee mugs. The one thing that we all seem to get really personal with is our favourite coffee mug. We have different shapes and sizes, some with cartoons on, some with quotes, some are big and some are small. What ever your preference, there is a mug out there for you.
Due to the sheer variety of options, choosing the right coffee mug is not an easy task. However, if you stop to consider a few details, you may find it easier to narrow down your options.
What To Look for in a Coffee Mug: You need to consider 4 essential elements when choosing a coffee mug which are the proper size , the material its made out of, the type of lid for what how your using it and the overall design.

Material

It should be made from thick material that will isolate the drink and allow it to remain hot for a long time. There are lots of different materials that mugs are made from these days, including plastics, glass, and stainless steal and of course, ceramic.
Hybrid coffee mugs are usually made from plastics, while stainless steal is usually used as an outer shell for a protected plastic lined cup, often used as travelling cups to take a coffee to work. If you go for one of these mugs, make sure it has a string watertight lid too and is of strong construction.
The more traditional ceramic mugs are what you’ll most likely find in people’s cabinets and work well as they retain heat. They’re practical, inexpensive, and available in more colors and styles than one could count. Most hold roughly 12 ounces of liquid and are ideal both in a home, and in an office setting. The down side of this is that they are no as durable, and prone to smash if knocked or dropped. Also, the do not usually come with a lid, so tend to be house or office bound mugs.

Size
The size for cups and mugs is based around a standard size for a single serving, which is usually 12 ounces. This tends to be the stating point for cups and mugs, which can range up to 20 ounces or even more for novelty coffee mugs.
Some of us prefer large mugs over small coffee mugs. Large mugs are for those people who drink coffee one after the other, some coffee drinkers like a medium size of mugs and others like it small just enough coffee shot to start up their day.

Shape

There are lots of different shapes of mugs to choose from, from the more traditional simple ceramic cup, to the heavy armour of a protected stainless steal travelling cup. Depending on size and weight, these different cups will suite different people, and offer different levels of comfort while drinking. The best thing to do is to experiment. Coffee drinkers who prefer mugs with lid are those people who are on the go who want to retain heat and keep away dirt from their coffee. Travel mugs are essential when commuting happens to be part of your daily itinerary, and are also available in many diverse styles. In addition, our travel mugs are designed to fit most vehicle cup holders.
